![]() For most of us, thinking different is not what we know how to do without some help. Thinking habits begin to be formed very early in life and after years of use tend to become quite fixed in our brain. Part of the reason for this is that the make up of the brain is physically formed by our thought habits. Fortunately, as we grow older we usually gain more experiences that in-turn give us more perspectives that we can connect and correlate to gain even more perspective. This is very valuable on one level but on another level it is counter productive since the minds ability to form possibly infinite perspectives makes it hard to know where to start. If you have to sort through all of your experiences and perspectives before choosing where to start you will run out of time before you get through infinity. That is why the mind is more effective when it is given clear constraints before coming up with ideas. For example, we need a new product to offer our customers but it cannot take more than three weeks to develop and cost more than $10,000 dollars. That kind of defined parameters actually give the brain a place to start and border for thinking which is very valuable and time saving. Not to mention the fact that it amps up the creativity muscle.
